Buna the croatian craft cider

Croatia can be considered the “Kingdom of apples”; old varieties belonging to Malus domestica are grown as independent trees, and give very tasty and energy-rich fruits. The large amount of polyphenols contained in the fruits have a very beneficial and positive effect on human health.

Old apple varieties in Croatia have a genetic predisposition to live independently and freely for many years, are adapted to the climate, and are more resistant to diseases and pests without the need for human intervention. It is an authentic natural resource that Tomislav Veseljak is studying and protecting, and of course using to produce his craft cider under Buzdovan’s label. https://buzdovan.hr

Tomislav Veseljak, is an oenologist by profession, with many years of experience abroad in both California and New Zealand, where he first got acquainted with cider production before deciding to bring it to Croatia and we are very happy to present his new creation called “Buna” that means “Revolt” in local language… and we really are witnessing a new revolution here! https://naturavini.com/product/buna-2020-cider-buzdovan/

Buna is a craft cider made from old varieties of wild apples that grow at the foot of Papuk forest, in the heart of the Slavonia region, at 280 meters above sea level. The orchard is organically certified, never treated, and apples grow on independent trees. The cider is fermented without any chemical addition and using only the yeast present on the skin of the apples. The second fermentation happens directly in the bottle and gives a natural effervescence and a delicate, fresh apple flavor to the cider.

A unique product from a unique Country.
