La Macchiona is a bottle that is also an icon and manifesto of Italian natural wine and an emblematic and engaging compendium of the artisanal dimension of the Piacenza hills. Named for an old farmhouse in the midst of the vineyard, Macchiona is La Stoppa’s flagship red.
Macchiona 2010 is another superb vintage for La Stoppa now Wonderfully aged with fantastic depth and beauty. A real bold and earthy Red wine obtained with blend of the 2 more representative grapes of Colli Piacentini: Bonarda and Barbera
Unfiltered and unfined with bit of ‘materia‘ in the glass. A perfect acidity, that contribute to giver to this wine a huge complexity.

Vinification
After 30 days of maceration, the Macchiona spends a minimum of 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels, and lot of years in the bottle before being released. Not filtered no sulfites added
