Etnella

Davide Bentivegna makes natural wines on the slopes of the Etna volcano in Sicily.
The vines are planted on land that is terraced with dry-stone walls constructed with the local volcanic stones so omnipresent on Etna’s slopes. The close proximity of the vines (6,000 – 9,000 plants per hectare) creates fierce competition and forces the roots to point downward in the volcanic soil in search of water and nutrients.

Around the vines you can also see olive trees and fruit trees, which give richness to the territory and allow it to preserve a natural balance. In the cellar, Davide focuses on vinifications as natural as possible, in order to highlight the particular mineral character of the wines: fermentations are absolutely spontaneous, thanks to the exclusive use of indigenous yeasts, the wines do not undergo either clarification or filtration, and the addition of sulfites is minimal to none.

The Etnella winery produces lively and vibrant wines, which at every sip tell the magic and complexity of the Etna territory, faithfully restoring its different nuances and enhancing the relative terroir .

Etnella wines express with their elegance and structure a unique place, characterized at the same time by the austerity of the mountain and the flavor of the sea, presenting an unexpected Sicily.
